Troy Wilson is a serial entrepreneur whose passion lies in building exceptional biotech companies to advance patient care. As co-founder, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Kura Oncology (NASDAQ: KURA) since its inception, Dr. Wilson and his team have pioneered the development of menin inhibitors and farnesyltransferase inhibitors (FTIs), two novel classes of therapeutics, for treatment of cancer. Previously, he co-founded Wellspring Biosciences and its parent company Araxes Pharma LLC, which demonstrated KRAS was “druggable” using covalent KRAS G12C inhibitors, a breakthrough innovation in targeted therapies for cancer. He also co-founded Avidity Biosciences (NASDAQ: RNA), a leader in delivering a new class of RNA therapeutics, serving as President and CEO from 2012 to 2019 and as Chairman since inception. Earlier in his career, Dr. Wilson co-founded Intellikine, a private company focused on developing small molecule inhibitors of the PI3K/mTOR pathway, a key signaling pathway in cancer and other diseases, guiding it as President, CEO, and Chairman until its acquisition by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company in 2011. He also co-founded Ambrx Biopharma (NASDAQ: AMAM; now part of Johnson & Johnson), a pioneer and leader in next-generation ADCs. Dr. Wilson serves as Chairman of the Board for Cartography Biosciences and Montara Therapeutics, and as a board member of Puma Biotechnology and Cipher Genetics. He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law, a Ph.D. in bioorganic chemistry, and a B.A. in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley.
